Faithfulness In Sufferings: the Greatest Miracle

A dear lady from a church that I used to be a part of, got fatally ill a little over a year ago. She was one of the most hospitable, one of the sweetest people that you could meet, and now she lives in constant weakness, without any natural hopes of getting better. She suffers… But she suffers faithfully.

As her life was a Christian testimony to many, her faithfulness in suffering is even a greater testimony to Christian faith and to God whom she serves. Yes, it is unfair that such a good person suffers. She does not deserve it. If anyone deserves supernatural healing, it is her.

But think about miraculous healings: they often produce envy in others, which results in a desire to have greater faith, but only to be able to get what someone already got. A desire for magical faith, not the Christian one. That is true in many cases, not in all. Some miracles do witness to Christ; but this is possible only because others witness to Him in sufferings.

While in prayer for the healing of this dear lady, I thank God for her faithfulness in suffering. Because this is a louder testimony than any miracle could be.

  1. Mary's avatar Mary says:

Thank you for the tribute. It fits someone I know. We are required to be faithful by Jesus.
